Colour Systems

RGB

RGB, short for red, green and blue, is the colour system used for lights, such as light effects on concert stages and to determine the colours on a computer screen.
• No lights = 0/0/0 = black.
• All lights on full = 255/255/255 = white

CMYK

CMYK, short for cyan, magenta, yellow and black. is a colour system that is commonly used in printing, for things like magazines and newspapers.
100/100/100/100 = black
0/0/0/0 = white
If the 3 first channels are all on 100, the result will always be black, even when the 4th (black) setting is set to 0.
